Celine Dion Hate Mail
Last week I wrote about Celine Dion’s concert being canceled and made a joke about how annoying she is. And I got hate mail! Hate mail about politics I can understand, but Canadian entertainers? Some Celine Dion fan website linked to me (Yes!) and a guy (a male Celine Dion fan!) sent me this:
o your opinion, however insignifigant it is (pretty damn, actually) is that the
largest selling female recording artist in music history worlwide is the most
irritating pop artist since ace of bass? IRRITATING?Really? You find it irritating, perhaps, that she has that much talent? or
perhaps it’s her extradinary vocal range? her power? her stage presence?the unparralled success of her 5 year vegas show? Her millions of fans
worldwide? maybe it’s the fact she’s not a raging bitch like mariah carey,
or an insane crack whore like whitney became due to bobby?hope you love china, brah. you abviously are not getting enough honest info on
the web and thru honest, western media sources to even have a clue what you
write about.only stumbed across your obscure, virtually, unknown “blog with delusions of
granduer” thru a google search (guess what? your blog is not near the top of
the search, shocking i know, but true) as to why her show was going to be
cancelled.
I never knew Celine Dion fans were so confrontational. Or such bad spellers!
This makes all of the time that I have spent on my obscure blog worth it.

Anyone who spells obviously with an “a” (ie abviously) is not allowed to have an opinion. Also, despite my Canadian heritage, Celine Dion grates the hell out of me, too.
Congratulations on the hate mail, though. Inspiring hatred and malice in the ignorant is truly a worthwhile cause.

he’s totally right. it IS the confounding combination of her “stage presence
” and “the unparralled success of her 5 year vegas show” that make me hate her. i used to tremindusly respekt her, but after witnessing her recent successes….my love has turned to scorn.

Celine dion fans are the most annoying. I had something similar happen to me, and I learned from one of her fans that a whole crew of them spend their days on the internet making sure nothing negative is written about their dearest diva, it.
Still celine dion fans are a lot more annoying than celine herself, and their attempts to convert people make me and others really dislike celine dion and her singing.

Her fans are like so annoying. They are everywhere, mostly women, and so annoying. Some of these fans sound like stalkers. I know Celine Dion works really hard, but she is an artist, that’s it people. These people need to get a life, instead of spending time stalking dion online

She can sing, she has a great range, she packs in the crowds, no on is denying that….so why does she irritate the effing hell out of me? I guess I hate BIG singers who have to go all over the scale on every breath; who sound the same on every, EVERY song they sing, and who don’t play instruments other than their voice. I hate them because they are products and have music and lyrics written for them, despite their tremendous singing voices. It’s like a Sam Kinnison joke I heard about women born with huge knockers….”Thank you God, now I don’t have to go to school.” It’s the same. They are born with huge voices so they don’t have to do anything but sing; everything else is done for them.

I think Valerie hit it on the head. Celine Dion does have great pipes but her music is so over-produced and, well, sappy. A great talent with no taste.

Celine’s songs make my heart melt.
and have done for many years since I first heard her vioce.
Almost went to Celine concet in Vegas
My husband got me 2 ticket in Oct 21 2008 for my 52nd birthday
this year for me and my friend. He doesn’t dis her because she
not his favorite person . ” but tells me have a great time.”
He would go to a Cher concert.
As a loving fan of Celine I have a illness and when my time comes
I already have Celine singing Amazing Grace.
That why her fans have to defender her because she has
No swearing , no drugs , genuinly love her ! Male and Female fans.
Celine has a heart and she shares with the love her , and adore her,
and I have all her music Video’s & CD’s and have watched her
going on TV shows just hear her voice,
her going over her stage on
Oct 21,2008 myself ( she loves her fans and moves about
the stage so they all can see and hear , my heart melted and
her grace brought me to tears my seat was at one of the 4
arms in her stage so we could see her . ) Amazing performance.
I put up both my arms and shook them , and said I loved her
when she looked our way.
Love my hubby for getting me the tickets

Celine caters to those who celebrate and mistake mediocrity for genius. She may come across as having a great voice but only if your auditory nerves are damaged or affected by excessive wax, She screeches and whines through notes that true artists handle with control and finesse. Listen to her screech through her version of Ave Maria and compare that to a true talent by listening to Luciano Pavarotti’s version. She should be ashamed to even attempt that song.

Celine fans love her shows & her personality & what they believe is HER singing. What galls me is that she is (has for years) lip syncing her way thru much of her performances. There is proof of this on some youtube sites. I myself compared separate performances side-by-side, & found lip sync after lip sync after lip sync. Lip syncing has been an ‘open secret’ in the entertainment industry for years, but it used to be used mainly for television appearances, & performers who did it did so sparingly, unlike today’s cash crop of wiggling, dancing performers who could no way dance as they do & sing so incredibly at the same time w/o serious breathing difficulties. But, Celine certainly tops the cake — the greatest lip syncer of all time. She earns millions upon millions of dollars (& spends as much) committing outright fraud when people spend hundreds of dollars to see her sing LIVE. She uses prerecordings of songs that are not the same as the CD versions (although earlier in her lip sync career she did use actual CD versions), maybe sings live at the beginnings & ends of some songs, & the majority of the rest is mime. Incredible. Her customers deserve a refund & advance notice that so much of the show is just lipping to recordings. She will not admit it. Still, her avid fans will want to give her a break b/c they are in love with her — if you like her music, she does put on a pretty good show otherwise. But if it is advertised as ‘live’, I want to see AND hear live. She should not get credit for being such a GREAT singer when she is lipping her way through shows. Some fans who admit to the lipping will post excuses like ‘poor thing…she must be so tired with all the shows she puts on, & she DOES have to save her voice’ ???? She is definitely NOT poor, & if she didn’t want to do SO many shows b/c it is SO draining or b/c she wants to spare what voice she has left, she should not book so many — but that would be less revenue for her. Some fans say “So what if she is lipping? The recordings are still HER voice!” Perhaps — her voice as cranked through lots of electronic production so high notes can be perfect pitch & can be looped to last longer than they would live. Check out the video of her Vienna performance when her prerecording did not kick in at first. Lipping is fraud, pure & simple, & ‘poor’ Celine KNOWS what she is doing. She should not be paid for (or as much) nor given credit for faking it.
