Pigs are smarter than dogs, so I don't see much of a difference. And yet people will try to brush it under the rug (Seoul had to stop selling dog meat in 1988). We were at a social function with one of the local cadres in Anhui at a banquet-style lunch. After digging into a stone-pot cooked meat dish, one of my colleagues asked me and my other laowai friend if we enjoyed the dog meat we just had. He was appauled and didn't eat anything else the entire meal. Me... I went back for seconds... it's not that bad (though I'm not going to ever order it) If you want disgusting, try camel feet... now that's vile! Actually, I had 狗肉 once by accident.
